Hi, I’m Andrew Nartey, a guy who lives and breaths creative thinking!

I’m a relatively easy going guy who also likes to think things through and do things properly.
I try to avoid being serious all the time because down that path lies premature old age and a wrinkled forehead.

You're as likely to see me engaged in a serious (but calm) debate as you are to see me staring at my screen, randomly smiling, frowning or engaged in an inter-office magic show.

Talking of the office, I have worked for some brilliant organisations like lastminute.com, Royal Mencap society and Scotland Yard with a bunch of very  talented and fun people.

I'm a designer and a developer. I come up with the look and feel of a website, create the graphics, and then code the XHTML and CSS. I've been doing this for over 8 years now. Sometimes I even work with IT to get all the fancy back-end framework and server configs working.

My culinary skills extends the whole range of toast dishes, though I have learned to eat even more fruit and veg (it’s easy to prepare), and I am slowly expanding my palate to include none bread related intake. It's a brave new world.

I love music. I could spend fortunes on new music and it’s a depressing thought to realise that I won’t  live long enough to hear all the music the world has to offer.

about this website

The site has been around for about a year, in various incarnations. The last rebuild was a big one, as i’ve sprinkled in a little jQuery magic, here and there.  It’s built on the Joomla CMS engine, using PHP5 and MySQL to handel all the dynamic stuff, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript for all the front end stuff.

It's taken roughly 4 days to put it all together.

  • Day 1 for the template creation in Photoshop.
  • Day 2 for the XHTML template creation in Dreamweaver.
  • Day 3 for CMS deployment and customisation.
  • Day 4 for the content and bug fixing.

I've done my best to make this website as accessible as possible for as many people as possible. To learn more visit the accessibility page.

This site validates perfectly:

Valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional

What's with the name?

Well I took a liking to 'loopexpression' because it summed up what I continue to do when building a site or working on a project.

The continued effort to design and build a new site usually follows the same pattern or loop - however, each site has a distinct brand. An expression if you will; that sets them apart from others.
